Uncommon, growing in crevices on sunny cliffs and on talus slopes. Known from a few collections made in the alpine zone, it also can be seen at low elevations, as here on Westside Road, where it was photographed on May 9, 2017, and, drying as summer approaches, on June 25, 2015.
