The Flora of Mount Rainier -- a Photographic Journey, by Susan McDougall

Narrow-leaved Bur-reed - Sparganium angustifolium

Picture
This is the common bur-reed of low elevation ponds and has been found in the Nisqually and Ohanapecosh Valleys. The slender leaves float at the water's surface while the flowering stems rise above it. Photographed near the Ohanapecosh campground on August 28, 2014.
