The Flora of Mount Rainier -- a Photographic Journey, by Susan McDougall

Tufted Saxifrage - Saxifraga cespitosa

Picture
From a compact plant about three inches across, each short stem carries several white flowers (but is shown here as the seed is ripening). This is rather rare in the Park, limited to rocky ridges and slopes between 7000 and 8500 feet. Photographed on the summit of Second Burroughs Mountain, August 26, 2014.
