Under-green Willow - Salix commutata
"Under-green" refers to the plain green undersides of the leaves of this species, a feature that distinguishes it from the other common subalpine willow, Barclay's Willow. It can be found throughout the Park in the subalpine. At left, the ripening capsules are shedding their hairy seeds. On the right, the pollen-bearing catkins have just burst their buds.
