One-sided Bluegrass - Poa secunda ssp. secunda
A common grass on dry, rocky ground at timberline and above on the west and south sides of the Mountain. These plants, however, were unusual: they grew in the bed of the Nisqually River at Longmire, along with Mimulus cespitosus and Mimulus lewisii, two other high elevation species. It seems possible that they were all brought down as seeds during a flood period. Photographed on July 12, 2014.
