Silver-leaf Phacelia - Phacelia hastata var. compacta

Fairly common on open, dry talus slopes and rocky flats, 4000 to 7000 feet. The flowers can be a pale lavender color. Photographed on the Paradise Glacier Trail, August 29, 2014.
