Hybrid Penstemon - Penstemon fruticosus x rupicola

Not uncommon in the middle part of Stevens Canyon, growing at the roadside. From Penstemon rupicola, it has gray-green leaves and a rose-tinted flower; from P. fruticosus, it has a taller stature, largish leaves and a subtle blue cast to the flower. It may also be found on the Frozen Lake Trail. Photographed in Stevens Canyon on June 4, 2014.
