A beautiful but uncommon penstemon, this species can be found on moraines and open talus slopes, between 4000 and 7000 feet, chiefly on the north side of the Mountain, although these plants were photographed (left) where the Skyline Trail crosses the Paradise River on August 29, 2014, and (right) on the Paradise Glacier Trail, August 2, 2013.
