Not uncommon in coniferous forests below about 2500 feet, this leafless plant can be found around Ohanapecosh, Sunshine Point, and Longmire. The dry capsules are from flowers of the year before. Photographed (left and right) at Ohanapecosh, June 26, 2013, and (center) on lower Westside Road, August 13, 2014.
