Alpine Bog-laurel - Kalmia microphylla var. microphylla

A common plant of meadows throughout the subalpine zone, avoiding the wettest places and differing from variety occidentalis in stature, the plants seldom more than six inches tall. Photographed at Louise Lake, July 9, 2014.
