Calypso - Calypso bulbosa var. occidentalis
Infrequent but not hard to find, locally abundant in a few places, and most often encountered below 4500 feet in the Nisqually and Ohanpecosh River Valleys. The flowers have a sweet scent and a pure white form has been seen in the Longmire Campground. Photographed at Sunshine Point (left, center) on April 29, 2014, and (right) on May 8, 2017.
