Deer Fern - Blechnum spicant
Very common below 3000 feet in moist forests and at the edges of swamps, although also known, rarely, to occur as high as 5000 feet at Mowich Lake and 6500 near Frozen Lake. A fertile frond is seen rising above the sterile fronds in the photo at left. Photographed at Longmire (left) on August 18, 2011 and (right) on May 18, 2014.
