A tall, common perennial easily seen in moist, open places along roadsides below 4000 feet, growing also on moist banks and cliffs in open woods. Male and female flowers are borne on separate plants; enlarging the left image will show tiny stamens on some of the flowers. Photographed (male, left) at the Ohanapecosh campground on June 21, 2014, and (female, right) on Westside Road on July 8, 2014.
