Clasping Arnica - Arnica lanceolata ssp. prima
Fairly common, most often along small streams below 6000 feet, but also on rocky slopes where deep water is present. These plants have been browsed and are re-flowering. Photographed below the summit of Second Burroughs Mountain on August 26, 2014. The right hand photo was taken at lower elevation below Chinook Pass on June 28, 2016.
