Fairly common but nowhere abundant, this lily relative grows on stream banks and on moist slopes, and sometimes in crevices on wet cliffs, between 2500 and 5000 feet. A unique flower form, here an unusually red color. Flowers can range from greenish-yellow to purple-brown. Photographed (left) at Box Canyon on July 2, 2014, and (center, right) at the Longmire Campground on June 30, 2014.
