The Flora of Mount Rainier -- a Photographic Journey, by Susan McDougall

Trail Plant - Adenocaulon bicolor

Trail Plant - Adenocaulon bicolor
Common in forest openings and often seen along trails (the common name refers to the arrowhead-shaped leaves which are white and woolly on the underside - turning a leaf can, therefore, be done to mark a trail). Found throughout the Park, to an elevation of 6500 feet. Photographed at Sunshine Point on July 8, 2014.
